Cultura featured in CME Group’s OpenMarkets and Upstream Ag Professional
Cultura Technologies, a growing global collaborative of agri-food-focused technology businesses, was quoted in OpenMarkets, a publication of CME Group.
Jeff Schreiner, SVP of Global Collaboration at Cultura, is featured in the article talking about how collecting and harnessing the power of data can enhance commodity values and even become a valuable product itself. For example, traceability of agriculture means that end users can easily identify the origins of a commodity as well as how it was treated along the way, which can be valuable to consumers based on their preferences, including for consumers of organic or sustainable products. He also talks about the rising interest in how data can create additional value for farmers who raise crops for biofuels.
“If our industry comes together to link production and the values that the consumer really wants with the value chain – and be able to prove it – that’s a completely new, proactive marketplace that doesn’t exist today,” he says in the article.

Modaxo legal leader interviewed on The Corporate Counsel podcast
Working for a global company like Volaris can bring unexpected opportunities, including the chance to broaden your professional experience outside your home country. That was certainly true in the case of Emilie Franklin, Group Legal Counsel at Modaxo, who relocated from Brisbane, Australia to Toronto, Canada. Modaxo is a global collective of people transportation software businesses that began as a portfolio of Volaris Group.
In the episode, she speaks with The Corporate Counsel podcast host Jerome Doraisamy about how the experience has made her a better lawyer so far, the personal and professional reasons that interested her in relocating, and how an acquisition completed by Modaxo created the opportunity for her in Canada. She credits the talent development process at Volaris for helping to identify the opportunity to develop her career in Canada.
She advises other in-house lawyers interested in relocating to understand cultural differences before making the move, which could include a trial visit to the new country.
“If you’re interested, it’s about raising your hand and flagging your interest to your managers,” she suggests in the podcast.

Volaris Group’s acquisition approach discussed on The Tech Panel podcast
John Crook, a former leader who spent more than a decade of his career with Volaris Group before retiring, appeared on The Tech Panel podcast, where he discussed Volaris Group and Constellation Software’s decentralized acquisition model, his career in technology, and the future of AI.
Crook became part of Volaris after Softlink was acquired by Volaris in 2013. After that, he grew his career to become Softlnk’s General Manager and later a Group Leader, where he oversaw a group of businesses and became more involved with acquisitions.
He says the acquisitive environment at Volaris encourages an exciting culture of continuous learning: “Since [Volaris] is constantly growing, they need to constantly educate people on how to become that next-level manager.”
